PSB Speakers Announces Imagine T2 Floorstander

April 17, 2012

CANADIAN MANUFACTURER PSB Speakers has introduced the Imagine T2 as the range leader of the Imagine Series. The floorstanding T2 is a five-way, full-range tower equipped with triple 5.25-inch woofers housed in subdivided discrete chambers, a 4-inch midrange driver and a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter.

Thanks to its third woofer, the T2 , claims PSB, produces a bass response down to 34Hz and it can handle 50% more power than the Image T model (up to 300 watts). By isolating each woofer in its own chamber, the PSB design team says it can provide greater control over system tuning.

“The Imagine Series has been one of our most popular ranges to date, especially for its solid price to performance ratio which means exceptional value. So we clearly knew that designing a new Imagine flagship would come with high expectations,” commented Paul Barton, Founder and Chief Designer of PSB Speakers. “With T2, I incorporated our latest design know-how, along with two additional drivers in a taller cabinet, for deeper bass, a larger soundstage and increased power handling. Yet, all of this is achieved with the same, compact footprint as our Imagine T.”

Adding to the value of the Imagine T2 are dual, five-way gold-plated binding posts for bi-amping or bi-wiring, adjustable spikes for convenient placement and installation, and a single port plug that can be placed into one of the three rear ports to create a more “personalized” soundscape.

The Imagine T2 is now shipping in two finishes: Black Ash Wood Veneer and Dark Cherry Wood Veneer and is priced at $4499 from authorised PSB dealers.
