NAD Releases New Wireless Digital Music System

November 24, 2011

NAD has announced the release of the NAD VISO 1, a wireless digital audio system that’s the first product from the new NAD VISO sub-brand.

The VISO 1 offers docking capability for iPhones and iPods and also uses the new aptX high fidelity Bluetooth wireless standard to allow easy connectivity to all brands of portable devices, no matter what their operating system, as long as they have Bluetooth capabilities. The VISO 1 includes NAD’s highest-end Direct Digital DAC/amplifier technology, in fact, it uses the same Direct Digital technology that was first seen in the $6,999 Masters Series M2 DAC/Amplifier. This is a pure digital platform with no analogue circuits.

This new audio system is designed to be dead simple to set up, allowing music lovers to intuitively stream their music library from their mobile device. For Apple users, the custom-tooled dock allows playback and charging of iPhones or iPods, while the included digital optical input allows an easy sonic upgrade for devices like Sonos, Apple TV or even flat screen televisions. Bluetooth setup should be as simple as pairing a mobile phone to a hands free unit.

Engineered by the original design team that created NAD’s famous 3020 amplifier, the VISO 1 was refined and tweaked by pioneering speaker designer Paul Barton, of award-winning sister company PSB Speakers, at the National Research Council in Canada. The NAD VISO 1 was styled by the New York design firm, DF-ID whose principal, David Farrage, will be developing a full line of NAD VISO digital wireless products to hit the market in the coming months.

The NZ RRP for the NAD VISO 1 will be $999. For more information visit
