Hydragun Massage Gun
Ignoring ribbing about naughty vibrations and multiple pleasurable attachments, PAT PILCHER gets up close with a massage gun.
I’d always thought of massage guns as gimmicks or, at best, as adult toys. That said, there’s a growing body of evidence surrounding the health benefits that massage guns can provide for muscle recovery, relaxation, and relieving tension and stiffness.
Having recently injured my shoulder and often waking up at night because of shoulder pain, I leapt at the chance to try the Hydragun Massage Gun. Could it offer relief where nothing was working?
With nothing to lose and a good night’s sleep to be gained, I awaited its arrival.
A week later, It arrived, packed in a sleek carry case with six attachments (Oooh that’s hot! – Sleazy Ed) and a charger. The first thing that struck me with the Hydragun was its size. It’s much smaller than I expected, about the size of a Coke can. It isn’t much heavier either, weighing in at just over 1kg. Its lightweight and compact design also handily means it can be thrown into luggage if you’re travelling.
Looks-wise, the Hydragon resembles a blaster from childhood sci-fi shows such as Logan’s Run. Thanks to its black finish and sleek and curvy design, it’s a good-looking piece of gear. Because its chassis is made of aluminium, it has a solid feel to accompany its hi-tech looks. Its solid build also means that packing the Hydragun for travel is dead easy, as its solid build means it’ll survive any travel with relative ease.
As it’s rechargeable, I was curious to know how long it’d run. After one charge, I got the better part of a week’s use out of it. It ran reasonably quietly, too. I half expected it to sound like a panel beater appliance, but its gentle hum was a pleasant surprise. With six speed settings, I could use a slower setting for more of a tapping/shiatsu-style massage through to its top speed for muscle relaxation.
Did it actually work? Surprisingly, it exceeded my expectations. I found firing it up once or twice daily provided quick relief for my aching shoulder. Best of all, the number of times I woke up with shoulder pain became vanishingly small. If I have a sore back, legs or arms, the Hydragun is now my go-to for relaxing tense muscles and soothing aches.
The Hydragun Massage Gun quickly became an indispensable part of my daily routine. Not only does regular use make for fewer sleepless nights, but I also found that mornings were far less achy too.
Its compact and lightweight design allows me to take it wherever I go, making it an invaluable travel companion. If you’re looking for a reliable and effective massage gun, the Hydragun definitely warrants a closer look.
