Technics to launch new ear gear

Classic audio brand Technics has announced an expansion of their range with two new earphones and one over-ear headphone.

The revitalization of classic audio brand Technics continues apace with two soon-to-launch wireless earbuds, the EAH-AZ60 and the EAHAZ40. Not satisfied with just two models, they’re launching EAH-A800 over-ear wireless cans too.

The technics team says that a new acoustic chamber design, a harmoniser, and 8mm drivers will optimise airflow to create a solid bass and enhance mid-ranges. The harmoniser will also generate smooth treble. These factors, say Panasonic, will combine to deliver an unprecedented range of natural sounds.

Further helping things along is an 8mm dynamic driver using a bio-cellulose diaphragm that is strong and flexible for clear lows and fluid highs. If that wasn’t enough, the EAH-AZ60 is high-resolution audio friendly thanks to LDAC support, delivering a wide dynamic range of sound with fast response and high definition. The EAH-AZ40 will use a smaller 6mm dynamic driver along with the Acoustic Control Chamber and Harmonizer to deliver clear sound into one’s noggin, too.

Rounding things out is what Technics call JustMyVoice technology. It’ll actively detect and capture your voice and will, in real-time, analyse and isolate ambient environmental noise, allowing for clearer phone calls. As a Wellingtonian, I also fully approve of the inclusion of wind noise reduction technology, which works thanks to small holes deep inside the headphones’ Mic cavities to reduce wind vibration.

Technics say that both buds are designed to maximise contact with the user’s ear canal for the best fit. The outer part of the earbud is thinner than with previous models, which should, in theory, prevent it from falling out of the wearer’s ears. Both buds are also IPX4 rated, which means they can handle being splashed with water and keep on keeping on. Both earbud models will launch in October, while the EAH-AZ60 over-ear cans will hit the market in early 2022.
