Punk It Up Returns To Doomed Kings Arms Venue

Original Kiwi punk legends Proud Scum and many others to appear in February death knell for Auckland’s iconic Kings Arms venue.

Proud Scum

Witchdoctor readers are more known for their sophisticated high def ears than their punk credentials, but some of us know when to leave our ‘hi-fi’ at the door for a bit of a rock’n’roll rage, and Punk It Up offers just such an opportunity.

The mini-punk festival returns to the Kings Arms for one night on February 17, before the venue meets its fate at the hands of the wrecking ball shortly thereafter.

Jed Town

NZ punk legends Proud Scum will appear in their first gig together in a decade, Aussie punks Wolfpack will also make an appearance, and so too will Wellington punk group Highway One. Perhaps most tantalising will be ‘cover band’ bankRobbers, which features Features/Fetus Productions’ own legend, Jed Town, alongside No Tag’s Andrew Boak.

Wellington rockers Flesh D-Vice have also announced their reformation appearance, albeit sadly without deceased singer Gerald Dwyer.

We’re told that there will be many guests, and special announcements closer to the hallowed date.
