We’re told that Hamilton based PQ Imports has taken over distribution of the Prima Luna brand in New Zealand. PQ Imports has been importing valve electronics into New Zealand since 1989, and owner Paul Quilter commented that the addition of Prima Luna to their existing VTL range gave them a tube amp in every price range from budget to extreme high end.
Prima Luna is a well-established European brand designed in the Netherlands. The company has a reputation for building valve amplifiers which offer great sound and high levels of reliability despite selling at very reasonable prices. We’ve heard a few pieces of Prima Luna gear over the years and have always been impressed with the bang for buck provided by the company’s gear – this old review is a good example.
The Prima Luna range includes integrated amplifiers priced from $2599, preamplifiers from $3299 and power amplifiers from $3399.
PQ Imports will carry the entire Prima Luna range in stock from December 2015 onwards and invites interested dealers and end users to make contact to arrange an audition or to find out more.
