September 7, 2013

hap-s1-black-970x0SONY HAS ANNOUNCED a new range of ‘high resolution’ audio products that it describes as ‘beyond CD quality, with pure sound as the artist intended.’
Its tagline is ‘The Power Of Premium Sound’, but what does that mean?
The new line is geared towards reproduction of high definition digital audio, and consists of:
HAP-S1 Compact HDD Audio Player System
A ‘one-box’ integrated system combining HDD player functions with 2 x 40W amplifier; built-in Wi-Fi for syncing with hi-res files downloaded from computer.

Connecting by USB to computer or smartphone, the Sony DAC promises “dramatically improved sound playback compared with your PC’s sound card… whether you’re listening to high resolution audio downloads, MP3 tracks or using favourite apps like Spotify or iTunes.”
Sony_SS-HA1_S_ALL_FSS-HA1 and SS-HA3 High Resolution Bookshelf Speakers
Two new speakers that Sony reckons will “faithfully reproduce your high resolution audio collection with exhilirating musicality and precision.” Featuring a newly-developed ‘double super tweeter, with separate high-frequency units in the front of and on top of the baffle. They’re teamed with a MRC (mica reinforced cellular) woofer in both models for an exceptionally wide, accurately resolved soundfield.’
The Sony audio range will be available from selected Sony retailers in October.
