Sony Goes 4K

August 30, 2012

SONY’S NEW 84-INCH BRAVIA 4K TV boasts a 4K (3840 x 2160) LCD panel and incorporates Sony’s ‘4K X-Reality PRO’ super-resolution high picture quality engine.

What does that all mean? Well this huge panel can upscale existing content to the high-resolution 4K format, so movies, TV programmes, photos and games can be viewed at the screen’s correct resolution, which is effectively four times the resolution of a current 1920 x 1080 “Full HD” panel.

This new TV features a three-way 10-speaker system with a total output of 50W, which is arranged at the sides of the panel directly facing the viewing position.

The Sony 84-inch UDTV (Ultra Definition TV) will be available in New Zealand by the end of this year.
