Voice search comes to Xbox

June 21, 2012

MICROSOFT MADE AN announcement today that will have Xbox owners and users – or more specifically, owners or users of the game console’s LIVE content – salivate.

From today, Kiwi Xboxers can use voice commands – yes, even with a broad New Zealand accent – to search Live content.

The voice search, which utilises the power of the Kinect sensor, is hyped by Microsoft as “the controller-free way to find and organise content across the Xbox LIVE entertainment catalogue.”

Other recently unveiled additions to the Xbox experience include cross-device app SmartGlass, and the news that Internet Explorer is coming to Xbox LIVE.
