Screen Innovations Black Diamond screen spotted at CEDIA Expo

May 28, 2012

Screen Innovations’ third generation Black Diamond projection screens are now available in NZ and were up and running at the recent CEDIA NZ Expo. Unlike other projectors set up in blacked out cubicles at the expo, the Black Diamond G3 screen was set up in the open hall but was still entirely watchable because the material eliminates the need for a dedicated darkened environment, which means that viewers can enjoy projection in normal Kiwi homes. The Black Diamond material offers the holy grail of projection – blacker blacks and whiter whites.

Black Diamond G3 upgrades include:

All-new 2.7 gain for commercial and 3D applications. Black Diamond 2.7 is polarisation preserving for passive 3D applications and increases projector brightness by 2.7 times compared to a standard 1.0 gain screen. The high gain 2.7 Black Diamond screen has one of the widest viewing cones available, making it suitable for wide audience viewing.

There are also 0.8 and 1.4 gain materials, which are much darker with improved light rejection, increased contrast, and razor sharp smooth images.
