FANS OF “THE Maiden” should be warned: the group’s new Blu-ray concert, En Vivo!, is to be released in NZ on Monday, March 26.
Filmed on April 10, 2011 in front of 50,000 fans in Santiago, Chile, the show features bigger/better stage backdrops and a surprising appearance by ‘Eddie’, the band’s mascot.
Bassist/founder member Steve Harris says they chose Chile for the concert recording “as we felt it was one of our best performances of the entire tour”.
The concert was filmed using 22 HD cameras and an octocam (a flying camera which captures aerial crowd scenes), and of course, recorded in 5.1 surround. The Blu-ray also makes extensive use of split screens.
There’s also an 88-minute ‘behind the scenes’ documentary, ominously titled Behind The Beast.
En Vivo! will be available on Blu-ray disc, DVD, limited vinyl picture disc and CD… oh, and digital download.
