Simaudio Moon 100D DAC Released

November 8, 2010

Following on from the highly regarded Moon 300D DAC, Simaudio has released a more affordable model, the Moon 100D. I’ve heard the $3,200 300D and it’s a goodie, it’s been a while since quite so many people in the local audio game seemed to agree on a piece of audio gear – the response from those who’ve heard it seems to be positive across the board.

The new Moon 100D has a lot to live up to then. It offers three inputs – USB, S/PDIF(RCA) and optical, Burr-Brown DAC chips, 24-bit/1.411MHz processing plus high grade components in a compact chassis constructed of rigid aluminium with a 1/4” brushed and anodized faceplate. The 100D can accept input signals from 44.1 to 192kHz with a bit-depth range from 16 to 24-bits

It’s available in locally from mid November and at a price of $1000, it’s definitely on my list of review DACs.
