Finn, Family And Friends For Summer Tour

November 4, 2017

Neil Finn will tour with his son Liam as well as family and friends in unusual NZ venues this summer.

This summer the father-and-son duo of Neil and Liam Finn will hit the road in New Zealand, according to the blurb “happily piling into the van for some back-road wandering.”

The itinerary was put together by Ian Jorgensen, the man behind the currently ‘on hold’ A Low Hum festival, and includes some genuinely unusual locations and venue choices.

“Neil and Liam, together with Sharon and Elroy Finn, Connan Mockasin, champion whistler Molly Lewis, John Carroll Kirby, Jimmy Metherell and songbird Eliza-Jane Barnes will play their hearts out for the locals and a few city blow-ins,” says the blurb. “Itโ€™s bound to be a welcome diversion, and a uniquely intimate look at the way the Finns roll, as they debut music from their upcoming collaborative album, as well as throwing in some of their favourite songs from the family canon.”

Connan Mockasin

Says Liam Finn: โ€œBoth Dad and I spent our careers with the ambition to make it outside of NZโ€ฆ putting a lot of time and energy into the rest of the world and sometimes overlooking whatโ€™s right in front of us, and why we pursue this vocation. This tour is about making memories – getting to do what we love, on an intimate level with good friends and family for the pure joy of it, and building a unique experience – hopefully for not just us but whoever wants to come along.โ€

Sadly, there’s no Dargaville gig, but that’s okay as I go to bed early these days, anyway.

The Where’s My Room tour dates are as follows:

Jan 3 – Barnett Hall, Piha
