Firmware updates give proud owners of recent Technics products direct access to Roon and Tidal.

Three of the latest Technics products – all of which have received effusive praise on Witchdoctor – have been blessed with firmware updates that make them even cleverer.

Proud owners of the Technics SC-CX700 wireless speakers, the SU-GX70 network amplifier and the SL-G700M2 network player now have direct access to Roon and Tidal.

“Technics has now officially upgraded its Roon support from Chromecast to the official Roon Ready support,” states the company. “Roon servers offer a fantastic way to browse your personal music catalogue and share it to connected devices with the guarantee that the stream will be optimised and no degradation will happen to the file.

“Tidal Connect allows direct connection of Technics Hi-Fi to Tidal servers for an optimised playback. Controlled via the Tidal app means you can enjoy a complete native experience. The benefits of Tidal’s native interface include high-quality streaming direct to the stereo and volume control via the Tidal app.”

Technics reminds owners to “please ensure you update your units to get these benefits.”
