OPPO Smartphones Launch In NZ

March 15, 2017

OPPO adds to its celebrated universal players and headphones with its own line of smartphones.

OPPO R9S

Witchdoctor’s hi-fi and AV-oriented readers already know about the OPPO brand’s enviable reputation for smart thinking, great sound and pictures, and prices that won’t break the bank.

The Chinese company’s universal (Blu-ray and now 4K) players and headphones in particular have garnered rave reviews.

Until now though, New Zealanders didn’t have quite the whole story about OPPO. On Monday however, all that changed, with the launch of the brand’s own smartphone (or as the company prefers to call it, ‘camera phones’) range.

OPPO’s popular F1S, A39 and R9S phones are the first to launch here in retail partnership with 2degrees and JB Hi-Fi.

We’re planning to set our smartphone expert on the trail, and hope to have a review to you soon, but in the meantime, whet your whistles with this:

Oppo is already the worldโ€™s fourth largest smartphone brand by market share, and continues to experience dramatic growth as it expands into new markets. Launching in Australia in 2014 (why the heck do we have to wait so long, dammit!?), within two years OPPO phones were in the top brands across the ditch.

OPPO claims state-of-the-art mobile photography, VOOC Flash Charge technology and its par for the course impressive design are winning over customers; that, and a reasonable price.

OPPO notes that the three mobile devices launching in NZ were chosen because they fit the Kiwi lifestyle.
