ONE OF OUR favorite AV companies is Cambridge Audio, purveyors of cool products that have always impressed our reviewers with an enviable combination of value and performance. The new TVB2 is a soundbar and wireless subwoofer system said to be one of the most discreet soundbars available, but designed to make sure it gives nothing away in terms of sound quality and power to larger and more intimidating units.
The 6.5 inch wireless subwoofer is paired with a narrow profile soundbar, equipped with CAโs own patented 4th generation BMR speaker technology, which is found in their hi-fi speakers. The BMR drivers are ideal for this application because they distribute the sound to more of the room than conventional cone drivers, which is good for people sitting on the far ends of the couch.
The TVB2 is designed to connect to a wide range of sources including blu-ray players, satellite decoders and games consoles, so there are three HDMI inputs, all with 4k pass-through. Bluetooth with NFC is part of the TVB2โs connectivity, along with an optical digital input and an AUX-in analogue input, so literally any TV or source can be connected.
A learning remote control is included, along with HDMI, Optical and AUX cables. Also in the box is a wall bracket that allows the owner to discreetly wall-mount the soundbar above or below their TV.
Weโll try to get a review unit in so Mr. Steel can test it out on his favourite shows and DVDs.
