WE KNOW THAT readers of Witchdoctor are all music freaks, so we figuredย you’d be stoked by the news that the forthcoming TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch comes pre-loaded with – you guessed it – a 30-minute mix of ‘motivating, high energy, upbeat dance anthems from some of the world’s best DJs, curated by Ministry Of Sound.’
You may have detected just a little bit of sarcasm in that opening paragraph. We wouldn’t like to second-guess the musical tastes of Witchdoctor readers, but our assumption is that you’re a musically sophisticated bunch, and somehow we just can’t imagine you working out to a bunch of inane happy house bangers.
But TomTom clearly thinks it’s onto something with its TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch, which lets you train to the tune of 500 songs ‘and the beat of your heart all on your wrist. The watch has an integrated music player, making it easier for fitness enthusiasts to boost their training. Now users no longer have to strap a phone to their arm or worry about wires getting in the way during their workout.’ We must admit, that no wire thing certainly excites us on a deep and meaningful level. But what about the sound quality? Well, we just don’t know, because they haven’t told us, but the watch, which will soak up 3GB of your favourite work-out hits, will hit the market in New Zealand in October, so it won’t be long until we find out.
As well as the music watch, there’s a whole range of new TomTom work-out watches available next month. No prices available at this time.
