SONY HAS UNVEILED two new Xperia smartphones, the Z5 and Z5 Compact, as well as the world’s first 4K smartphone, the Xperia Z5 Premium.
Sony reckons that the Xperia Z5 “brings the best camera in a leading smartphone”, and as well, the Z5 offers waterproofing, while the Z5 Compact, as the name suggests, “shares the same flagship expriences in a no-compromise hand-sized body.”
It’s the Xperia Z5 Premium that Witchdoctor readers will find appealing, however. Sony says that it ‘redefines mobile entertainment’, and we guess that what they mean by that is its 4K UHD display and 4K Ultra HD upscaling technology.
The smartphone also features a ‘next-generation smartphone camera experience designed with Sony’s interchangeable lens camera Alpha technology, built to capture split-second moments – a brand new 23MP Exmor RS for mobile sensor, supporting the fastest autofocus in a leading smartphone.’
The new Sony smartphones were launched at the IFA tech fair. They will be available from November. Local pricing is not available.
