TEAC ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT has been distributed in New Zealand for over 50 years, but the TEAC Reference range has only recently become available here.
Just landed are the new TEAC Distinction series stereo components, which benefit from trickle down technology from TEAC’s high-end brands, Esoteric and Tascam.
The Distinction series is a new line of affordable audiophile grade CD/SACD players and integrated amplifiers, which have been tuned by the Esoteric engineers.
CD/SACD PLAYERS
Two new CD/SACD players available in NZ, the CD-1000 and CD-2000. Both the players will play CDs, SACDs and CD-R/RW discs.
The entry level CD-1000 will retail for $1399, while the $1799 CD-2000 adds balanced outputs and a high speed Class 2 USB DAC.
Two amplifiers are being imported into NZ, and both are equipped with a headphone output as well a pre-out to drive an external subwoofer or recorder.
The $1499 AI-1000 will output 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms, and the $2299 AI-2000 offers 180 watts per channel in 4 ohms, adds a second toroidal transformer and a second pair of speaker outputs, plus a fully balanced analogue input and a phono stage in addition to the five RCA inputs.
All products in this series are available in either natural aluminium or in brushed black and are available exclusively from Stereotype Hifi โ http://www.stereotype.co.nz/teac
