SONY HAS ANNOUNCED an enhancement of its RX100 – the RX100 II – will enter the retail space in New Zealand around mid-July, and retail for $1199.
Improvements to the model include ‘new 20.2 megapixel back-illuminated Exmor R 1.0-type CMOS sensor that boosts sensitivity for better low-light images’.
The RX100 II also features Wi-Fi and smartphone connection via NFC, Multi Interface Shoe and a ‘3.0-type White Magic LCD that tips up or down.’
Moving images are full HD, while it also features TRILUMINOS colour ‘for richer, more natural colours’.
Sony reckons it’s the perfect travel companion for those wanting point and shoot portability with DSLR-style imaging, and trumpets its low-light abilities, allowing for better shooting indoors or at dusk or dawn without a flash.
The Cyber-shot RX100 II will be available from Sony Stores and selected Sony retailers.
