T+A HAS a new distributor in NZ and Australia โ€“ as of February 15th, Hamilton based PQ Imports has taken on the brand. T+A stands for ‘Theory and Application in the field of audio technology’, so please hold the comments.

T+A is known for making some very distinctive audio gear and weโ€™re looking forward to hearing some of the German companyโ€™s best efforts. The NZ stock is on the way and should be here by the end of Marchโ€“ weโ€™re hoping that a set of the hefty M10 monoblock power amps from the flagship V-series are in the container. These beasts are valve/solid-state hybrids, weighing in at 52kg each and capable of generating 60 watts of pure Class A power into an 8 ohm load in their high-current mode. They can also be set into high power mode, which is when they go mad โ€“ Hi-Fi news measured a review pair as being able to generate 585 watts into 8 ohms and 980 into 4 ohms. The amp pushed a mighty 2,800 watts into a 1 ohm load under dynamic conditions. Whew!

Weโ€™re told that the range to look out for is the HV series with their very high voltage solid state output stages. Weโ€™ll aim to get some T+A review units in as soon as we can.
