The Smashing Pumpkins are to perform one show at Auckland’s Vector Arena on Saturday 4 August, 2012.
The group will be debuting what they claim is a unique stage design, made to visually convey the themes of their new album, Oceania, due for release on 22 June.
Apparently, the group will also play tunes from their old albums.
The NZ show will be on the tail-end of shows in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne.
Singer Billy Corgan: “Australia is the perfect place to usher in a new era of The Smashing Pumpkins, where we look to combine an epic rock show with the latest in visual mapping technology to create a one-of-a-kind experience for our fans.”
No word as to whether NZ will get the whole caboodle that Australia is getting, but we damn well hope so.
Tickets for the show go on sale from Ticketmaster at 9am on Wednesday 9 May.
