New smart 3D LG TVs released

June 26, 2012

LG HAS RELEASED its latest series of 3D smart televisions. These new models use 3D technology similar to that used in 3D movie theatres – the FPR (film patterned retarder) is claimed to deliver an outstanding 3D effect without flicker (despite the awful name).

Thereโ€™s also a new look to the panels with a minimised frame that gets close to the borderless ideal. This is supported by new features including sound effects that are synchronised with the 3D images, new premium content services, 2D to 3D conversion, and a new Magic Motion remote control with gesture control.

The range starts with the 42-inch LM6700 at $2099 and goes up to the 55-inch LM9600 at $5799.
