The most style-obsessed iPod dock on earth?

Sir Terence Conran is an icon of the UK design industry – think Habitat stores, look him up on Wiki – and now his sense of style is being applied to his own iPod dock, now available in NZ.
Photos don’t do the Conran Audio iPod dock justice, but they do give some idea about the unique look of this slim, gorgeous unit.
Even more important to Witchdoctor readers is sound that is quite extraordinary for something of its diminutive size. The stunning audio, not surprisingly, is designed by Q Acoustics.
Design features include the illuminated ring around the input selector knob, which changes colour to indicate which source has been selected, and the remote control which fits neatly into the side of the dock when not in use.
The Conran Audio iPod dock will play wirelessly as well, streaming music from iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or MacBook, and from any Bluetooth-enabled portable media players, tablets, hybrid tablet computers and smartphones.
The dock’s Bluetooth receiver is also compatible with ‘apt-X’, a cutting-edge high-performance audio coding technology which transmits CD-quality full-bandwidth stereo over Bluetooth connections. The future now, indeed.
There’s a lot more to say about this amazing wee unit, but we’ll keep that for our full review.
Meanwhile, you can look for the Conran Audio iPod dock at your specialist store, or if you can’t find it, let us know, or contact the distributors at

  1. I was going to ask how does the iPad dock but then I read one, wireless! Thats so sweet, what is the quality like? Anyone tried one of these?

  2. Dave the great thing about this product is that you can dock your i-pod or i-phone in two ways with the Conran i-dock. Either by docking your i-pod or i-phone and connecting via the multi-connector on the i-dock or alternatively using the blue tooth connectivity, this allows you to be holding the player whilst listening to the Conran from across the room giving you the advantage of control from the comfort of your arm chair to stream music wirelessly from iPhone, iPod touch,iPad and Bluetooth™ enabled smart phones, tablets and laptops. The Conran i-dock also has an auxiliary input 3.5mm or rca phono to connect other music sources.
