Ruark’s Big Celebration

August 25, 2016

Ruark3FAMILY-OWNED BRITISH audio firm Ruark celebrates 30 years in the business with two limited edition versions of its iconic R1 and R4 table-top audio device, together with a branding makeover.

Starting out in 1986 with world-class high-end loudspeakers, Ruark has evolved into a company renowned for its new-generation all-in-one music devices with their design aesthetic perfectly attuned to today’s smaller spaces.

ruark1The two limited edition products are the R1-30, which features a smart ‘Swiss Red’ satin lacquer, while the R4-30’s enclosure has been subtly attenuated with ‘aero’ curves and a new satin titanium finish. Both models also feature a commemorative 30th anniversary plaque machined and etched from polished steel.

The R4-30 comprises an enhanced multi-format CD player, aptX enabled Bluetooth receiver for high quality wireless music playback, DAB/DAB+/FM tuners, USB playback port and auxiliary inputs united with a powerful 2.1 amplifier/speaker system. An organic OLED display ensures set-up and programme information is displayed with exceptional clarity, and Ruark’s latest RotoDial controller has now been integrated into the design, allowing users to manage functions directly from the R4 or via Ruark’s dedicated infrared custom remote. Customers can also connect their TV to the R4 via the optical input to provide a rich and expansive sound.

Ruark2Once described as “simply the most beautiful radio in the world”, Ruark remains passionate about sound and producing timeless designs.

Ruark Audio’s ambition has always been to create design icons of the future, and the same high quality principles remain in action, as the company design and engineer a new generation of perfectly formed, luxury music systems with wide-ranging appeal that looks fabulous in any space.

Ruark will also be marking its 30-year anniversary with a rerubbed logo, and a new tagline: ‘Designed and crafted for beautiful spaces.’

The limited edition Ruark R4 is due in New Zealand this October via PQ Imports.
