Rotel RCX-1500 All-In-One Released

October 5, 2010

Rotel has launched it’s new all-in-one music player. I’m not even sure what to call this type of device any more because they offer so much functionality and cover so many areas. They’re cool though, every time I try to get my four sets of interconnects and eight power cords to stay out each others way, I think that a single chassis unit has to be the answer.

Rotel calls it the RCX-1500 Streaming Media/CD/FM Stereo Receiver, which pretty much covers it.

The RCX-1500 has a 100 watt Class D stereo amplifier built in (and that’s a solid 8 Ohm power rating, not 4Ohm, so this thing is grunty enough to cope with real hi-fi speakers).

There’s a slot loading CD player, which uses the same 24/192 Wolfson DAC found in the RCD-1520 CD player, digital inputs to take advantage of the DAC, a front USB input for USB drives and iPods, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity options, Internet and FM radio along with UPnP support for access to music files stored on a network.

That feature list would cover my bases but where did Rotel hide the turntable?

Needless to say the first review unit available in NZ is coming our way very soon.

RPP is $2,499
